I had my last cigarette Saturday night. Don't plan on ever having another one. Also had my last alcohol drink Saturday night until at least Thanksgiving or Christmas/New Years. Going on a very strict fitness regime for 60-90 days. Will keep you all updated on how that goes. Figured I'd post and let you all know what's up. It's going to be a very rough couple months, but I like challenges.
This week seemed to fly by. We kicked ass in darts Wednesday night by winning 10/13 games. Last night I bowled another all-time best, 165. And if that's not enough, it's FRIDAY!
I still can't decide whether or not I want to goto State Street in Madison this weekend or not. It would definitely be a good party to goto (with all the riots and all), but I dunno if I feel like spending the money on a stupid costume. Decisions decisions.
AJAX is fucking insane. I've been playing with it a little bit here at work, and so far, I've learned quite a bit about it. Basically, it allows you to access XML data through JavaScript without refreshing the page. Going to definitely be cranking out some cool shit.
Oh yeah, also forgot to mention that TP (The Planet, where I rent a dedicated server) made me take down all my IRC services because they thought there were botnets on the box. After I've prooved to them several times that no such botnets existed they still went ahead and annoyed the hell out of me. So now I'm hosting my IRCd and services on my home connection again for the first time in a few years.
So far this morning is not going so well. I goto make my first pot of coffee, plug it in and go back to work. When it's done, I goto poor some into my mug and see that it's all water and that I've somehow forgotten to put the coffee grains in. That was slightly irritating, but I let it slide. Well, since this coffee maker is a piece of shit, I had to wait about 15-20 minutes before I could make another pot. All is well until I try helping a friend with a weird problem she was having in C:
For some reason, strtof() (string to float) wasn't working. Notice how the function prototype requires a string. Well, I went ahead and said "durrrrrrr, shouldn't that be an int?" Heh, shortly thereafter I realised that the entire point of the function is to convert a string to float. So yeah, I felt like an idiot.
Then if that's not enough I later spill coffee all over my keyboard. I hope the rest of the day goes a little better for me.
My co-worker brought in a coffee maker/coffee/creamer for our cubical area. I now live off of coffee in the mornings. I can make one MEAN-ass cup.
We won more games in darts last night than we've won all season so far, COMBINED.
I decided to take a vacation day tomorrow. Mainly because I don't want to try and get up at 6am tomorrow morning to be at work by 7am when I wont even get home from bowling until at least 1am. It's also my little sister's birthday, plus my mom is also taking off work. I plan on sleeping until at least noon-1pm, then getting up and playing Q3A (Quake 3 Arena) all day until it's time to go out and party later that night. Yes, party night, baby.
/me drinks another cup of fuel as he prepares for a 9am on-site with his boss and co-worker.
I'm going to get back on my diet this week. Going to be a very low caloric intake for about a month until I regain gym access. Maybe I'll post progress pics on here some day. :)
Strange but interesting. This is a car advertisement from Great Britain.
When they finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. They found out that a person had been killed a year earlier in that exact same spot. The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained ghostly phenomenon.
Watch the front end of the car as it clears the trees in the middle of the screen and you'll see the white mist crossing in front of the car then following it along the road .Spooky!
Is it a ghost, or is it simply mist? You decide.
If you listen to the ad, you'll even hear the cameraman whispering in the background about it near the end of the commercial. So turn up the sound!
